Choosing the right wedding vendors can make or break your big day—and while there are plenty of amazing professionals out there, it’s important to know the signs when something doesn’t feel quite right.
At Luxuri Beauty, we’ve worked alongside hundreds of wedding vendors. We’ve seen the dream teams… and the disasters. This guide is here to help you spot the red flags before you sign a contract, so you can protect your investment, your sanity, and your experience.
If a vendor can’t provide a clear, written contract outlining services, pricing, cancellation policies, and deliverables—run.
Your contract should include:
Red flag: They tell you “we don’t really use contracts” or offer to “just confirm things over text.” That’s a no. Protect yourself.
You shouldn’t have to chase your vendors to get basic answers.
If someone takes days to reply to emails, doesn’t confirm details, or stops responding entirely after you inquire—it’s a preview of how they’ll behave once you’ve paid a deposit.
Reliable vendors:
Red flag: You feel like you’re doing all the work. You deserve a vendor who’s organized, proactive, and respectful of your time.
Every vendor should be able to show you examples of their past work—whether it’s photography, floral design, glam, or coordination.
If their Instagram is full of stock images or reposts, or their work looks different every time with no clear style or quality—that’s a red flag.
Look for:
💡 Bonus Tip: Ask to see full galleries or behind-the-scenes footage—not just curated highlights.
You know the saying: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Vendors who dramatically undercharge compared to others in the same category may lack experience, use lower-quality products, or overbook themselves to make up for low pricing.
Red flag: Super low rates with no explanation. This usually leads to cut corners, lack of professionalism, or last-minute cancellations.
Your wedding is not the time to gamble on the cheapest option—you’re investing in peace of mind, not just a service.
What happens if your vendor gets sick or has an emergency?
If a vendor can’t clearly explain their contingency plan or doesn’t have a team in place to cover for unexpected issues, it’s risky.
At Luxuri Beauty, for example, we have backup artists and a coordination team on call so our brides are never left hanging. Every vendor you work with should offer the same level of professionalism.
Red flag: They don’t have insurance, a backup plan, or support beyond themselves.
You should feel excited and supported, not pressured. If a vendor rushes you into signing, ignores your questions, or gets defensive when you ask for clarification—it’s a major red flag.
You want vendors who respect your boundaries, communicate clearly, and take the time to understand your vision—not push their own agenda.
A lack of online presence or zero reviews can be just as concerning as bad ones.
Do your research:
Red flag: Poor communication, no-shows, or missing deadlines are common themes. Trust what you read.
Booking your vendors shouldn’t feel like a guessing game.
If something feels off, trust your gut. Ask questions. Read the fine print. And always work with professionals who value your day as much as you do.
Whether it’s your glam team, photographer, florist, or coordinator—choose vendors who make you feel supported, safe, and seen.
